What is the Difference Between Personal Lockers, Security Lockers, and Digital Lockers?

As a leader in the design, manufacture, and installation of all types of lockers, we'd like you to know what we mean by personal lockers, security lockers, and electronic keypad locking mechanism digital lockers. Okay, we've already explained the last group of lockers, so now we'll move on to personal lockers and security lockers. Personal lockers can be found in many locations. Personal lockers (unlike security lockers) can be found down at the gym or pool or even in your own home. In other words, personal lockers are for storing your belongings in a locker that is typically secured by a key or combination padlock that offers moderate to good security. Security lockers are a whole different animal, indeed. Today's state of the art security lockers pretty much describe themselves. When absolute fail-safe, top security is needed, security lockers fill the bill quite nicely. The goal with all security lockers is to keep unauthorized persons from gaining entry. Of course, the same holds true for personal lockers, but a padlock can be defeated quite easily by a determined thief. Security lockers, on the other hand, will keep that same thief from ever having the slightest hope of gaining unauthorized entry. Why is that? Well, security lockers use highly advanced, biometric technology to control the locking mechanisms of all security lockers. Biometric markers are fingerprints, eye or corneal configurations, and even voice or facial recognition technology can be incorporated into the highest hi-tech security lockers. Personal lockers, when it comes to security, can't even come close.

Who Needs Hi-Tech Security Lockers? Can Personal Lockers be Modified to Become Security Lockers?

Let's answer the second question (above) first. It probably wouldn't be practical or even possible to convert personal lockers into security lockers. The locking mechanism alone wouldn't accomplish the job because personal lockers are typically made of light gauge steel, a material that a determined thief could penetrate without too much difficulty. Security lockers, on the other hand, not only use biometric locking mechanisms that will only operate when a fingerprint, eye scan or other DNA based marker is matched. Security lockers are also typically made from super-hardened materials that can actually be bullet or bomb proof. Personal lockers simply can't provide that type of security. As to who needs security lockers, the list grows longer every day. From law enforcement to Homeland Security to manufacturing or research firms, security lockers are needed by anyone who wants to guarantee the complete safety of the locker's contents.
